riverdog design was named, in part, in honor of the dogs that are and have been such a big part of my life. Here is my current riverdog, Dakota.

Dakota is the Sioux word for 'friend'. Dakota got his name because we hoped he would be a good friend to the family. As you can see from this picture, Dakota adores the cats and the cats adore Dakota. The cats take turns sleeping with him..

Dakota's full name must be Dakota Two-Balls, because he's generally seen carrying around two tennis balls. On a good day, he can do three, but two is his standard.

Dakota likes to play with the cats whenever he gets a chance (and wherever they happen to be).
